EXCERPT
Forrest nibbled at her
upper lip and she opened her mouth, his tongue swept inside and her nails dug
into his suit as she clung to him. Her
brain stopped working and all she knew was his tongue curling around hers. She moaned and he pulled her back upright,
then she yelped as she was in the air.
"Forrest!" She
wrapped her arms around his neck and held on for dear life. She'd never been carried before, and it kind
of hurt where her weight rested on his arms.
How was he lifting her? "Our
guests," she finally muttered, trying to blink the romantic haze from her
eyes.
"They left a while ago." He was carrying her to the bedroom.
"Forrest, I-" he silenced her as his mouth found hers
again. The bed was at her back and he
was over her, tasting, tempting, drawing her further into his promises of
pleasure. Before she knew it, she'd
unbuttoned his suit jacket and pushed it off his shoulders. He shrugged out of it, his lips never leaving
hers. She wrenched at his tie and
started on his shirt buttons.
Forrest yanked at the tie, managing to undo the knot. She was undressing him, and he knew if he
stopped kissing her, she would protest.
Besides, now that he'd had a taste of her, he did not know how to
stop. Her hands splayed across his bare
chest, and he slid his hands under her back, pressing those full breasts
against him. He broke away first,
needing to breathe for a short moment, but kept his hold on her. Her eyes were closed and he pressed kisses
along her jaw, down her neck, and further still, his tongue grazing where her
dress barely contained her breasts.
"Addie, my Addie," he murmured, licking at her skin. She tasted like the purest clover honey.
He was suddenly shoved away, and he panted for a moment, his
heart beating out of his chest as he met her eyes. She wasn't angry, she looked panicked. "What's wrong?"

Shifter Under Cover is the third book in C.A.'s Pepper Valley series that I've read. I've enjoyed watching C.A.'s writing strengthen and the characters grow. C.A. drags you into Forest and Addie's mission as they go under cover as a married couple that is making and selling meth at their new beach front home. It's no secret that Forest has been head over heals for Addie for years, but she's been holding a front that she's not only not interested in Forest, but she's also a lesbian. It doesn't take long for Forest to break down the wall Addie has built up, but when he's taken as a prisoner on another mission, it will be up to Addie to break down his walls.

The
next book in the Pepper Valley Shifter series is Forrest's book and a
great read. What happens when you go on assignment with the girl who
always said no to you when you asked her out in the past, well marry her
of course for the assignment and find out she's your mate. Between
family, weddings, another assignment and secrets that are finally told
this this is story keeps holds your attention and keeps you guessing to
what will happen next. I for one can't wait to find out what that will
be.
